Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Perfecting Concealer Review

For anyone that prefers the “natural makeup” or “no makeup makeup” look, Juice Beauty is an amazing mid-range organic beauty brand to check out. While I’ve tried several of Juice Beauty’s skincare items, I haven’t really tried many of their makeup products. I was most curious about their HYTO-PIGMENTS Perfecting Concealer since I had heard it was similar to RMS Beauty’s Un Cover-Up and wanted to see how they compared.

Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Perfecting Concealer (Retail: $25) comes in 5 shades and is a great everyday concealer that is buildable and provides medium to full coverage. It does remind me a little bit of the RMS Beauty’s Un Cover-Up, however, it is less emollient and creamy. While I find the RMS Beauty Un Cover-Up easier to apply and blend with my fingers, the Juice Beauty concealer works best when my skin is well-moisturized. As a result, the Juice Beauty concealer lasts longer throughout the day, especially with a setting powder applied on top. It also does a pretty good job at covering up any discoloration or redness.

According to Juice Beauty’s website, the Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Perfecting Concealer has great skincare benefits and organic ingredients:

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I do like the Juice Beauty concealer but I admit that because I was so used to the creaminess of the RMS Beauty Un Cover-Up, it took me awhile to get used to the texture of the Juice Beauty concealer. Once I figured out how to make it worth for my skin type, I did enjoy using it more often. Since it provides a fuller coverage, I feel like it can appear “cakey” on areas that have texture like blemishes or dry patches if my skin isn’t prepped properly beforehand. The nice thing about the RMS Beauty Un Cover-Up is that because it is more sheer (but still buildable), I find that the shades are more forgiving. I’m curious to see if the Juice Beauty concealer shade Cream is a better match for my skin tone as I find Sand to be a shade too dark.

If your skin is on the drier side, definitely check out the RMS Beauty Un Cover-Up first. However, if your skin is on oily side, you may prefer the Juice Beauty concealer more. Also, RMS Beauty does have 8 shades vs. Juice Beauty’s 5 shades, so if you find the Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Perfecting Concealer shade range to be too limiting, then check out the RMS Beauty Un Cover-Up and let Juice Beauty know they need to work on making their shade range more inclusive.

The Juice Beauty concealer also claims to have anti-aging benefits such as reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. However, since this is not a current skincare concern of mine, I’m not able to provide an accurate assessment to this claim at this time. If this is a skincare concern for you, it might be worth checking out to see if this concealer will work for your mature skin type.
